Animation concept art: Farine sketches with Ghent-style houses and windmills

Farine concept art

Yesterday I talked a bit about Farine, one of the environments in the film. It's inhabited mostly by cacao farmers, and is built on steep mountainous terrain.



The houses are modeled a bit after the style here in Ghent. They have carved out little canals for the mountain water to stream down in, so they can use boats to move around in front of their houses. These are some early sketches, I hope you enjoy them.
