This is a sketch of the entry hall after passing the gate of Caniton.
Today I used two layers of paper, one for the background and one on tracing paper for the character on the bicycle.
That way it's easy to keep the background seperate for later use to start painting, and it makes working on the character easier as well without affecting the background drawing.
It also has an added benefit of being able to, if necessary or desired, do simple animatics by moving the character layer. In this case for example I could make the character on his bicycle move from left to right, quite easily using software.
The background today is also based in part on an existing structure somewhere in Europe. Can you recognise where it might be?
